History

Nanao's parents, both of whom were government researchers, died tragically in a failed experiment.

Nanao and his older sister received a large sum of money from the government as compensation for their parents' deaths, so they were able to live their lives without financial complications.

While Nanao was able to carry on his daily life with no financial worries, he felt shadowed by constant pressure, and isolated, because he was the son of government researchers.

The person Nanao loved more than anyone was his older sister, who acted as a replacement for his dead parents and was the only family that he knew.

Nanao's sister was ten years older than him. She was born without legs, leaving her unable to walk.
Due to this fact, she did not know of the outside world beyond Nanao, resulting in a naive personality and a lack of common sense.
Nanao wished to protect his kind and gentle sister more than anything else in the world.

One day, on Nanao's birthday, his sister fell down the stairs in their home and died right in front of him.

The last words she spoke were, "I'm glad you're not hurt."

Nanao's parents' field of research was android-human integration.

They were conducting technical research on transplanting human-like skin molding onto androids all while attempting to construct artificial legs that looked and behaved like a human's for Nanao's older sister.
